It's EASY! Come visit us at the Flagler Technical College and register for GED prep classes. Our certified teachers will help you study for all subject areas of the test and you will have access to books and materials to help you get started. Registration is only $50.00 per semester which includes an initial placement test (Test of Adult Basic Education) to help you determine where to start.

FTC's GED Prep Course Info:
These courses are designed to prepare adults at a 9.0 grade level or above to successfully pass the complete battery of the GED subject area tests. After successfully passing all four subject area tests the student earns a state of Florida high school diploma. GED preparation courses are offered in each of the four subjects: Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Mathematical Reasoning.

Can I take one subject at a time?
Yes! You can choose to take one content area at a time, two at a time, or any combination that best suits your needs.

Age Requirements for Prep Course:
Students 16 years of age and older may register for GED prep courses and must be withdrawn from the K-12 system prior to GED prep course registration.

How to Sign-up for Practice Tests and GED Exams:
Visit GED to create your GED account. You can also learn about the 2014 GED exam, see success stories, and try a sample test question.

Practice Tests:
GED Ready is the official practice tests for the GED exams. GED Ready practice tests are half the length of the actual subject exams but give the student a good idea of testing methods and a personal study plan based on performance of each test. Practice tests are $6.00 per subject and can be taken on your personal computer in the comfort of your home.

GED Exams:
Log in to your GED account at www.myGED.com to schedule GED testing. If you meet your local area's policies for testing (16 & 17 year old students must take and pass all online practice tests in order to register for the actual GED exams), you will see a yellow "Start Scheduling" button on your dashboard Study tile. Click "Start Scheduling" to answer the scheduling questions, select your test subject, your preferred day and time, and pay for your test.

The following requirement shall govern eligibility of candidates who are not 18 years of age at the time of examination: According to rules of the local school board, persons who are at least 16 years of age may be permitted to take the tests under extraordinary circumstances, Section 1003.435(4), F.S.

However, 16 and 17 year old students (permitted to take the tests under extraordinary circumstances) must register at a qualified GED prep program, then take and pass the online GED practice tests in order to schedule the GED exam.

What do I need to do to pass the test?
Each GED subject test will have a passing score of 145. You will need to reach a score of at least 145 on each subject test and a total score of 580 across the four-part battery in order to receive your GED diploma.

GED-I Program

Begin learning Health Science terminology and concepts while attending our GED or ESOL classes!

Our GED-I (GED Students) and ELCATE (ESOL Students) Programs allow students to prepare for and enroll in our CNA (Nursing Assistant) while completing their GED or ESOL classes. During the 2020/2021 school year, we will be offering this program to our ESOL and AGE/GED students who enroll in August, September, or October.

How it works:

As part of their AGE/GED or ESOL curriculum during Fall 2020 classes, students will learn terminology and concepts to help prepare them for our CNA program. In January 2021, they will enroll in our CNA (Nursing Assistant) program. The CNA program is scheduled to be completed by March 2021. For students who do not complete their GED or ESOL requirements upon completion of the CNA program, they will continue to work with an instructor in their respective programs.
